Distribution of clothes, stationary supplies, toys, etc. from Japan

 2000.12.27 A container full of donated items was transported from the Mumbai port onto a truck to be distributed to schools and orphanages. It took us nearly 3 months to get the shipment out of the Mumbai port as we were not aware of all the Indian regulations and laws on imported goods. We were so happy to receive so many donated goods from the people in Hiroshima, Japan. |
 2001.1.7 The goods were donated to SOS Balaglam in Pune. Here are Akimi (9) and Teresa (9) standing in front of a jeep which is transporting boxes of clothes from Japan. We are not in any way better than Indians just because we donate goods. Our children learned a lot of valuable lessons from the people of India on love, courtesy, simplicity, and so on. |
